THE Dog & Gun in Wibsey has closed for a deep clean after “a positive case of Covid 19 within the premise”.

The pub said the one day closure (Saturday, October 17) was a “precautionary measure” and will see the pub undergo an anti-viral deep clean and “fogging”.

Writing on social media, a spokesperson for the pub said: "Unfortunately we have had a positive case of Covid 19 within the premise.

"As a precautionary measure we have taken the decision to close today whilst an external contractor carries out a anti viral deep clean and fogging of the premise.

“This process uses a formula that is certified to kill all CoronaViruses, SARS and Covid-19 within five minutes of contact time. The formula helps reduce virus transmission from human to human and kills the virus on all surfaces.

“We believe that this is the correct form of action to take to protect our customers and staff members.

“We will be welcoming our customers back once this process has been completed and we have been issued infection Control & Bio-Hazard Fogging Certificate.

“We look forward to welcoming you back to The Dog & Gun, where we will continue to provide a safe and enjoyable environment. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our loyal customers for there [their] continued support.”
