A HERD of "loose cows" made their way onto Manningham Lane last night before being moved on by police.
A video posted to Twitter by the West Yorkshire Police Roads Policing Unit shows the cows receiving a police escort as they are taken away to safety.
Enquiries are ongoing to find out where the cows came from, police say.

Noreen Akhtar, Area Co-ordinator for Bradford West, also tweeted about the "midnight visitors" this morning, explaining how the herd had also paid a visit to Lister Park.
We had discovered some midnight visitors at Lister Park today, they had a lovely walk. They told our Parks manager they wanted a change of scenery.@bradfordmdc @BradDistParks thank you to our Friends @WestYorksPolice who helped them home, praised 4 keeping to the #RuleOfSix pic.twitter.com/KmHQ7ZF7B4

West Yorkshire Police Contact Management Centre humorously added that there had been some "beef" in Manningham, after it had "herd" of the news.
There's been a bit of a "beef" in Manningham tonight. The "steaks" were high when we "herd" of some cows causing "udder" chaos on the roads. Our officers took "stock" of the situation and are "steering" them safely out of harm's way. #nightshiftpuns #urbanpolicing

This afternoon, West Yorkshire Police confirmed that the incident had been resolved and that a farmer had come to "pick up" the cows, but, when asked where the cows had come from and how they had ended up on Manningham Lane, police said they did not have these details.
