FIRST Bus has announced changes to its 608, 617 and 618 services after reports that its buses were subject to "vandalism" in Holme Wood.

In a tweet posted yesterday, First Bus said its 608 service will only operate up to Lymington Drive, terminating at Broadstone Way's 'turning circle'.

Both its 617 and 618 services will terminate at Dudley Hill roundabout, it was added

In a reply to a separate tweet this morning, First Bus implied that these changes were temporary, saying that "at present, this is just [for] today".

In another tweet, the company confirmed that its decision was made due to alleged "vandalism of our services", adding that "we have had to take evasive action when this has happened."

Matt Edwards, Community Campaigner for the Tong ward, said that many residents in Holme Wood are unhappy that "anti-social behaviour has got to the point it has", following the news.

"The majority of people in Holme Wood are at breaking point following this spike in anti-social behaviour", he said.

"This is all the result of a decade of cuts to police funding, cuts to social and child services and a general lack of investment in the estate by Bradford Council.

"How much worse is it going to have to get before something gets done?"

First Bus has been contacted for a comment.
