LEADING packaging and labelling equipment supplier, Advanced Dynamics, has appointed three new apprentices.

Conor Linegar, 18, Adam Barrett, 16, and Jedd Kedzierksky, 17, all started at the Bradford-based business in August as apprentice technical support engineers following the company’s commitment to provide young people with fresh opportunities in a thriving industry.

Advanced Dynamic’s appointment of the new recruits, who attended Tong Leadership Academy, Bradford Forster Academy, and Parkside School in Bradford respectively, comes off the back of a year of exponential growth.

Tom Smith, sales director at the company, is delighted with the impact the apprentices have had since joining the team. He said: “Malcolm Little, the company’s managing director, began his career as an apprentice and earlier this year he made a commitment that he wanted to give something back to the local community and provide an opportunity for a young and aspiring person to come in and learn in a thriving business.

“Originally, the idea was to employ one apprentice, but due to the quality of candidates that we spoke with, we ended up employing three. We wanted them to learn on the job together, go to college together, and grow within the business together.

“We couldn’t be happier with the way they have integrated themselves into the business and our tightly-knit team, especially during such challenging times. They have shown a great willingness to learn - to the extent that just over a month on from joining us, they are shadowing our engineers on servicing and installation tasks."

Conor, one of the three apprentices, added: “I did originally start college, but after a few months of being there I realised that I wanted to get an apprenticeship. I’ve always wanted to be an electrical engineer, but this course allows me to get an insight into mechanical engineering as well."

He added: “The last month and a bit have been brilliant. I have enjoyed every second of it. It’s also been comforting to share this experience with two other apprentices who are a similar age to me.”

Speaking about what he wants to achieve as an apprentice at Advanced Dynamics, Conor added: “I’d love to become a fully qualified engineer. Not only that, though, but I want to help the company to continue to grow at the rate it is.”
