A CITY centre restaurant has submitted plans for an outdoor seating area.
Buffalo Grill, based in Southgate House in Thornton Road, is planning to construct an outdoor decking area up on which two large umbrellas will be placed to allow diners to sit outside under cover.
The plans also include metre-high planters along the Thornton Road boundary, and a steel shipping container.
The decked dining area would be based in the restaurant’s car park and result in the loss of four spaces.
Buffalo Grill has submitted the plans following the outbreak of Covid-19 as outdoor dining is safer than internal seating, and would only be temporary.
The restaurant is based in the Thornton Conservation Area, and in the plans Buffalo Grill said the development would not result in any changes to the existing buildings.
