POLICE have issued an appeal after an 11-year-old pedestrian was rushed to hospital following a crash.
West Yorkshire Police was called to reports of a road traffic collision on Miry Lane, Holmfirth, at around 3.35pm yesterday.
A grey Range Rover Evoque was travelling along the road when it was in collision with a young boy, at the junction with Longlands Bank.
The pedestrian, an 11-year-old male, was rushed to hospital with a head injury.
His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
The driver of the Evoque stopped at the scene.
Miry Lane was said to be closed for at least five hours while emergency services dealt with the situation.
The closure was from the road's junction with the main A6024 Huddersfield Road to its junction with Heys Road.
One onlooker said they heard it happen.
Roads Policing are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision, or the circumstances prior to it, to contact them on 101 or by using the contact options on the West Yorkshire Police website.
