A RUNAWAY driver's partner and friend helped police identify him after he abandoned them both in a car officers had been chasing.
Officers from West Yorkshire Police's Roads Policing Unit spotted a blue Ford in the Thorpe Edge area of Bradford at around 9.28pm on Sunday, September 27.
They indicated for the car to pull over, but the driver failed to stop.
Police chased the vehicle for a short time before the driver then came to a halt and abandoned the car.
He ran away on foot, but he had left his partner and friend in the vehicle.
They both then helped the officers with the identification of the runaway driver.
The blue Ford was seized.
A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: "Vehicle failed to stop for police in Thorpe Edge.
"After a short pursuit, driver abandoned the car leaving his partner and mate in the car, who were able to help officers with the ID of the run away driver.
