A BRADFORD secondary school has had three confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the past week.

Oasis Academy Lister Park has sent three letters out since Monday informing parents and carers of the cases.

The first, sent on September 21, said: "Over the weekend we were informed of an individual positive COVID-19 case for a student at Lister Park.

"We are pleased to inform you that the student only has mild symptoms and we are extremely grateful to the parents for contacting us to inform us of this case. As a result, we have contacted a small number of Year 10 students who, after speaking with Public Health England and the DfE, are classed as having been in close contact with this student and therefore need to self-isolate for a further week.

"If you have not been contacted by our senior leadership team over the weekend your child has not been in close contact with the individual concerned. Please don’t be alarmed, but it is a reminder that we all need to remain vigilant, both in school and in the wider community.

"As your child is not in the close contact group identified they must continue to come to school as normal."

Then, on September 22, another letter was sent out which said: "We have been informed of two individual positive Covid-19 cases for students at Lister Park.

"We are pleased to inform you that the students only have mild symptoms and we are extremely grateful to the parents for contacting us to inform us of this case.

"As a result, we have contacted a small number of Year 7 and 9 students who, after speaking with Public Health England and the DfE, are classed as having been in close contact with this student and therefore need to self-isolate for 14 days. If you have not been contacted by our senior leadership team, your child has not been in close contact with the individual concerned."

As in the first letter, it goes on to highlight that if a child is not in the close contact groups identified and spoken with, they must continue to come to school as normal.

A third letter, sent yesterday, confirmed the school had been informed of another positive case of Covid-19 and that a "small number" of Year 10 students have been classed as having close contact with the student and will be self-isolating for 14 days.
