SOME pupils at a Shipley primary school are self-isolating after cases of Covid-19 emerged.

High Crags Primary Leadership Academy, Crag Road, Shipley, said two members of the school community tested positive for the virus and are now self-isolating at home.

A spokesperson said: "Working with the Trust’s Covid Response Team, we swiftly identified those who had been in close contact. As an entirely precautionary measure, a number of pupils are now self-isolating at home where they will continue their studies until they return to school.

“We have planned extensively for this scenario and carefully organised pupils into groups and limited their movements around the school to prevent the risk of the virus spreading. This enabled us to quickly trace who may have been exposed to the virus and to ask them to self-isolate for 14 days.

“Due to the robust and extensive measures we have put in place to protect our pupils and staff, there is no indication that the virus has been spread within our school. The school remains safe and open to all other pupils.

"We continue to work closely with Public Health England, the Department for Education and the local authority.”
