PLANS to turn a listed town centre building into five flats have been refused after planning officers pointed out that the application contained "numerous inaccuracies."
An application to create five flats in the upper floors of 10B Cavendish Street in Keighley were submitted to Bradford Council by Palermo in July.
Much of the street, including the building, is Grade II listed.
Despite being in Keighley town centre, the application for the work makes multiple references to the Haworth Conservation Area - which is over four miles away from Keighley.
Retrospective plans for dormer on listed, Haworth Conservation Area building are refused
The application form says: "New buildings or extensions should reflect the general pattern of buildings in Haworth especially in scale and proportion, although there is some scope for modern architectural innovation provided that it reflects the character of Haworth."
Commenting on the application, Bradford Council Conservation officer Jon Ackroyd said: "The submitted heritage statement contains numerous inaccuracies including extensive references to Haworth conservation area, and asserting that only the front elevation and not the ground floor are listed."
The application was refused by planning officers due to a lack of information, including whether the building's chimney breasts would be retained, and the planned UPVC windows, which "would result in a loss of significance and preservation of the listed building."
