Long before McDonald’s and Burger King, fast food lovers flocked to Wimpy Bars for their fill of burgers, fries and shakes.
Who remembers these delights served up at Bradford’s Wimpy? You could go for a Shanty Brunch or an Egg Bender - served with "French fried potatoes" - followed by the classic Knickerbocker Glory for pud.
Bradford's Wimpy outlet on Broadway opened in 1980. A year later animal rights protesters carried out a mock killing of a pantomime cow outside the burger bar as it celebrated its first birthday.
It was a place for friends to meet up, families and shoppers to enjoy a quick bite to eat, and even a first dates venue for romantic young teens.
What are your memories of the Wimpy Bar?
