Telegraph & Argus readers have been giving their reaction to news that pubs, bars and restaurants in England will be ordered to close by 10pm each night from Thursday.
The new restrictions are set to be announced by Boris Johnson in a bid to curb the rapid rise in coronavirus cases.
On the T&A's Facebook page, there was a mixed reaction to the Government's latest move.
Raja Billy Ahmed commented: "Yeah because coronavirus doesn’t go out after 10pm. Hilarious."
Graham Wood pointed out: "Most out of town pubs close that time anyway. Could do with them opening earlier though, missed out on the nice weather lately!"
Lynda Boylin wrote: "Clever virus can tell the time."
Pam Smith said: "It’s to help stop young ones late night drinking and when they had a few they don’t social distance , and pass the virus round."
Meanwhile, Phil Ellis asked: "Why not introduce the Public houses old opening times as a short term measure, ie 7pm until 11pm ?🤔"
