I’M probably in a minority here, but I quite like a spider scuttling across my living-room floor.
It’s spider season, when arachnids set up home in our nooks and crannies, occasionally creeping into sight up a wall or side of the bath. Despite us being programmed to fear spiders, they mean us no harm, and they kill flies and other dirty bugs, which is a good thing, right? I’ve always liked spiders (I’ve never quite got over Charlotte’s Web) and they’re welcome in my home. I once had one living in my wing-mirror for months, it was like a pet. Spiders are our unlikely domestic allies - be kind to them.
