Guiseley’s Parkinson’s Park will feature in this year’s virtual Heritage Open Days.

Hidden by Nature - the story of Parkinson’s Park will look at the history, ecology, flora and fauna of the “hidden gem”. The park’s recent history began in 2011 when a group of residents began a campaign to regenerate a derelict and neglected piece of land in the middle of Guiseley.

The Heritage Open Days website says: “The Friends of Parkinson’s Park have transformed the area into a much valued and beautiful community open space. The Park has been an invaluable asset during lockdown. The Friends are sorry not to be able to welcome Heritage Open Days visitors in person this year so they hope you enjoy their story online. Visit their website - www.parkinsonspark.co.uk - to find out more.”

Heritage Open Days, from September 11 to 20, is England’s largest grass roots heritage festival involving over 40,000 volunteers and 5,000 events.
