A BRADFORD primary school has had six separate confirmed cases of Covid-19 within its staff team since it re-opened.

Exceed Academies Trust, which runs Copthorne Primary School, All Saints Road, confirmed the news this afternoon.

The spokesperson said: “We have been working closely with Public Health England and after completing their risk assessments (requested after each new case) they have confirmed that each individual case appears to be unrelated and is a reflection of the high number of cases within the community.

"There appear to be no links between the cases and no indication that any of the cases were contracted within the school.

"A number of class bubbles have been collapsed and all parents and staff notified. The school remains open to all other pupils.

"We wish to reassure our parents that we are continuing to monitor the situation closely and are working closely with Public Health England to ensure that we can continue to operate safely."
