POLICE found a knife after searching an "intoxicated" driver on a busy Bradford main road.

Officers from West Yorkshire Police's Operation Jemlock team - the force's initiative dedicated to tackling knife and violent crime - stopped a vehicle on Manchester Road, near the city centre, on Thursday, September 3.

The driver, a 39-year-old male, was found to be "intoxicated" and was arrested by police.

Officers searched the man and found a folding lock knife.

He now has a court date.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: "Operation Jemlock officers in Bradford stop a vehicle on Manchester Road in the city centre.

"The driver, a 39-year-old male, is intoxicated and arrested.

"On being searched he is found in possession of a folding lock knife.

"Now has a court date."
