PEOPLE were left waiting for Covid-19 tests this morning after a mobile testing unit failed to arrive at the Richard Dunn Sports Centre.

Bradford Council said as soon as it was made aware of the issue, it sent staff to the site to hand out postal test kits.

A spokesperson said: “This is a Government responsibility rather than a Council responsibility but we understand that an unforeseen issue with the mobile test unit, due to carry out testing at Richard Dunn Leisure Centre today, prevented it being able to offer their service this morning.

“As soon as we were made aware, Bradford Council has sent staff to the site and are handing out postal test kits to those arriving for their appointments.

“Anyone who was due to attend and left before this provision was in place is urged to rebook their test as soon as possible. We would also like to remind people to ensure they book before visiting any coronavirus testing site.”

The Department for Health and Social Care has been contacted for comment.
