A PRIMARY school in Bradford has closed down one of its bubbles after a member of staff tested positive for coronavirus.

In a letter seen by the Telegraph & Argus, High Park Primary School said the staff member had not been in school since first developing symptoms and is self-isolating at home.

Public Health England advised that the school shut down class 'Beech 3' with all pupils and staff also self-isolating until Friday, September 25.

"Only the pupils and staff who were in close contact with this staff member need to self-isolate," principal Ann Andrew said.

Ms Andrew wrote: "Dear parents, I am writing to inform you that a member of staff at High Park has tested positive with Covid-19.

"The staff member has not been in school since they developed symptoms and has been self-isolating at home, as per government advice.

"Following very clear and specific guidance from Public Health England we have closed the class, Beech 3, and all pupils and staff have been contacted and are now self-isolating until Friday 25th September.

"Close contacts are: Those who have been in face-to-face contact with the individual within one metre, including being coughed or sneezed on and skin-to-skin contact. Those who have been in extended close contact (i.e. for more than 15 minutes) with the individual within two metres.

"If anyone else in school develops symptoms, they will be sent home to self-isolate. Public Health England will be notified of any changes. We will keep you fully informed if there are any changes to this current situation.

"All staff and pupils will be able to access a test if they begin to display symptoms of coronavirus. If your child or any member of your household develops symptoms, all members of the household must self-isolate and seek an immediate test."
