TWO company directors are due to appear at Bradford Crown Court tomorrow (Monday) on charges of manslaughter after a member of staff at their landscaping firm died in an incident involving a robotic arm.

Michael Hall and Rodney Slater, as well as their firm Deco-Pak Ltd, were up before Bradford and Keighley Magistrates last month.

The garden building supplier, based at Deco House in Halifax Road, Hipperholme, was charged following the death of Andrew Tibbott on April 14, 2017.

Hall, 62 of Hullen Edge Lane, Elland, and Slater, 60, of Wellbank View, Rochdale, are both charged with manslaughter, and their firm is charged with corporate manslaughter, in that they owed Mr Tibbott, 48, a duty to take reasonable care to provide and maintain a safe place to work.

The defendants have been ordered to attend court in person for a plea and trial preparation hearing in the afternoon in front of Judge Richard Mansell QC.

A busy day at the court building tomorrow also sees a sex offender due for sentence, a man charged with handling a VW centre console belonging to West Yorkshire Police making an appearance in the dock, and a man facing sentence for peddling cocaine while in possession of a knuckle duster.
