INVESTIGATIONS are still continuing into what started a fire that claimed the life of a “true Oxenhope legend.”

Clement Holmes, 73, known as Clem, died in a fire at his Oxenhope home in the early morning of June 9.

West Yorkshire Fire Service says it is still investigating the cause of the blaze, although there are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances.

Next Friday members of West Yorkshire Fire Authority will be given an update on all recent fatal fires that have happened in the region.

Emotional tributes to "true legend" killed in caravan fire

Detailing the Oxenhope fire, the report says Clem lived alone in a wooden building attached to a caravan on West Shaw Lane.

It adds: “The fire involved both the caravan and the attached outbuilding.

"Both were heavily damaged by the fire and all combustibles were consumed.

"There were numerous potential ignition sources. Joint investigations are continuing with West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service and West Yorkshire Police to identify the potential cause of this fire.”
