SHOPPING and leisure venue intu Metrocentre is extending its opening hours, as it gets closer to normal operating following restrictions due to coronavirus.
The centre will open Monday to Friday, 9am to 8pm; Saturday, 9am to 7pm; and Sunday, 11am to 5pm, with enhanced hygiene regimes and hand sanitation stands in place.
Core hours had been reduced to 10am to 7pm, Monday to Friday, when the centre reopened in June.
All leisure facilities such as Odeon Cinema, Angry Birds golf, Clip n’ Climb and Namco Funscape are now open along with 95 per cent of shops.
Gavin Prior, operations director, said: “We expect the new earlier and later opening hours will prove popular with both brands and visitors. It will also support our restaurants and eateries.”
Some brands may take time to implement changes so visitors travelling for a specific store or restaurant should check individual opening times.
