A 5G MAST was set on fire in the early hours of this morning.

West Yorkshire Police was called to reports of a 5G mast on fire, on Otley Road in Bradford, at around 3.39am today.

It was at the road's junction with Rees Way, just outside the East Ward Labour Club.

The mast has been burnt and melted near the top of the structure.

Police and the fire service rushed to the scene and are currently examining the scene.

A large police cordon is in place and Otley Road is closed both ways, which is causing heavy traffic

A number of roads in the surrounding area are also shut, as a result of the cordon.

There are diversions in place for bus routes 645, 686 and 687.

Police are appealing for witnesses following the fire and an investigation is ongoing to establish the circumstances.
