THERE has been one further COVID-19-related death at a hospital in the Bradford district, according to NHS England.

The death was at Bradford Royal Infirmary and was reported to have happened on Wednesday.

It means the total death toll at hospitals in the district now stands at 351.

Of those deaths, 240 have been reported by Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, 109 by Airedale NHS Foundation Trust and two by Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust.

The figures are updated at 2pm each day and include confirmed death cases reported at 4pm the previous day.

"Confirmation of COVID-19 diagnosis, death notification, death certificates and reporting in central figures can take up to several days and the hospitals providing the data are under significant operational pressure," NHS England says.

"This means that the totals reported at 4pm on each day may not include all deaths that occurred on that day or on recent prior days."

Nationally, a further 11 people who tested positive for coronavirus have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 29,596.

Patients were aged between 48 and 95 years old. All had known underlying health conditions.

The dates of the deaths range from 2 August to 2 September, with the majority reported to have happened on 2 September.

Their families have been informed.
