A BRADFORD district transport firm will be running more buses from this weekend, as many of its timetables return to normal.

The Keighley Bus Company confirmed a number of its services would resume as they were before the coronavirus pandemic from Sunday, August 30.

This includes: the Aireline on weekends, the Dalesway, the K1, K7, K9, K10, K11, K12, K14, K15, K17 and K19 Keighley Jets local services, the 72 and the Wharfedale Links 948, 962 and 966.

The Aireline will have a new Monday to Friday timetable.

There will also be double deckers operating on the Aireline and the Dalesway to ensure there is enough room on board.

Some services will run near to normal, or with new timetables.

This includes: the Shuttle, the Brontebus, the K5, K13, K16 Keighley Jets local services, the 62 and the 67.

There will be minor changes to the Monday to Friday times for the Shuttle, with an extra bus for school students.

Saturday and Sunday timetables return to normal, except for late evening buses which will not run.

The Brontebus will resume as normal, except for route B3 to Hebden Bridge which will continue with a revised timetable on Monday to Friday.

An extra Monday to Friday journey will be added to the K5 service.

The K13 will return to a near normal timetable, with minor adjustments.

A new timetable will be introduced for the K16, while both the 62 and 67 will resume a near normal timetable with minor changes on Monday to Friday.

Other services will continue to run at unchanged times, while a Sunday service will run on Bank Holiday Monday, 31 August 2020.

The bus firm’s move comes as children prepare to return to school five months on from the start of lockdown restrictions.

The Keighley Bus Company also says increasing number of customers are returning to its services for work and leisure trips now that travel restrictions have eased.

General Manager at the transport company, Alan Isherwood, said: “With increased and thorough cleaning of each bus, clear safety guidance on board and a warm welcome from our amazing team, the time is right to welcome more of our customers back to the bus.

“Recognising that working patterns for many have changed, we’re now offering flexible ticket bundles as part-time home working has risen in popularity.

"All of these are available instantly on our Transdev Go mobile app, which also tracks every service throughout its route and shows our customers how much capacity there is on every bus at any point in the journey.

“We’re ready to help people travelling back to work, back to the shops, back to leisure and back to education, while also reducing traffic congestion and air pollution in our local towns and cities.

"It’s time to come back to the bus.”
