THE traditional art of weaving is returning to a historic mill in the area.
Sunny Bank Mills in Farsley will be hosting weaving classes at the site, starting on Saturday, September 5.
They have been started by co-owner of the mill William Gaunt, a passionate weaver, and led by Agnis Smallwood, a fully-qualified teacher and weaver.
Mr Gaunt, whose family's weaving history dates back 800 years, said: “We are really excited and can’t wait to get started.
“Our inaugural class, Weaving In A Day, will teach the traditional art of weaving on a hand loom, and a series of classes will follow throughout the autumn and winter.
“The classes have proved extremely popular but we still have a few places left on some of the courses.
“Bringing weaving back to Sunny Bank Mills, and organising these classes, has been a tremendous labour of love. Our family have been weaving wool cloth for generations.”
