WHEN it comes to safety measures, Ilkley’s Ticket Office Bar has gone the extra mile.

Located in the town’s historic railway station, the stylish venue has installed foot-controlled door openings, a thermal imaging camera to record temperatures, and a table app for orders.

The Ticket Office has been a popular addition to Ilkley’s lively bar scene since opening in December 2017. It has been busy since re-opening last month, with great feedback from customers.

Says General Manager Liam Chantry: “We decided to invest heavily and exceed both our usual hygiene standards and what was expected through Government guidelines, taking things one step further. We’ve got a state-of-the-art ‘ElectroStatic Sanitisation’ procedure, completely sanitising all surfaces and objects. There are foot-controlled door openings, hand sanitisers and a thermal imaging camera to record staff and customer temperatures on entry.

“Once seated, customers order via an app called ‘Swifty’ and we’ve got tables spaced a metre apart, a one-way system and daily deep cleans. Encouraging pre-bookings has helped to manage the flow of customers.”

Throughout August there’s a Pop-Up Pizzeria from Mozzafella Neapolitan Pizzas on Wednesdays (5-8pm) and Saturdays (3-8pm). “We’re taking part in ‘Eat Out To Help Out’ but we’ve extended our offer by not capping the limit at £10pp. Instead we’re giving away 50per cent off food and non-alcoholic drinks, with no limit on Wednesdays,” says Liam. “We’re working on a new cocktail menu we hope to launch next month, as well as a new collection of beers and an exciting ‘Cocktails at Home’ concept.

The Ticket Office is part of Sparkling Bradford, delivered by The Broadway Bradford, Bradford Council, Visit Bradford and Bradford BID to showcase the visitor experience across the district.

“We put a lot of thought into how we could make our site as clean and safe as possible and we’re proud to be one of very few hospitality businesses who put so many extra safety procedures in place,” says Liam. “The feedback is fantastic, we’re very proud of the team. We really missed our customers during closure, it’s been great to see so many familiar and new faces coming in. We can’t thank everyone enough for their support.

“Alongside Ilkley BID we’ve partnered with the LoyalFree app (loyalfree.co.uk/demo/) enabling people to find local bars, restaurants, deals and collect loyalty stamps.”
