BRADFORD Libraries’ new ‘Order and Collect’ service for books will now be available in three more libraries across the Bradford district over the next week.

The libraries being added to the service are Bingley, Clayton and Heaton.

The book ordering service gives people the opportunity to reserve books from the Bradford Libraries online catalogue or by phoning the library. The service was launched in early July and has been a great success with nearly 3,000 people ordering and collecting books in the first three weeks.

Bingley Library will be opening for this service from today from 10am until 3pm. It will then be open Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, 10am until 3pm.

Clayton Library will be opening today from 10am until 2.00pm. Then it will be open Mondays and Thursdays 10am until 2.00pm.

Heaton will offer Ready Reads and returns from Tuesday between 2pm-4pm.

All 29 of Bradford's libraries to remain open - but some could be in new buildings

Councillor Sarah Ferriby, Bradford Council’s Executive Member for Healthy People and Places, said: “Our ‘Order and Collect service has proved really popular and we want to extend it to as many libraries as possible.

"We need to make sure that we put measures in place to protect not only our staff but member of the public, so we ask that people coming to our library follow the rules and wear a face covering unless they are exempt and only come to the library if they are well.”
