TRIBUTES, flowers, balloons and teddies have been left at the scene of a fatal crash.

A seven-year-old pedestrian died in hospital after a collision with a black Toyota Auris Estate on Manchester Road, in Bradford, at around 10pm on Tuesday night.

It happened at the dual carriageway's junction with St Stephen's Road.

A local resident said he heard a massive bang and that the seven-year-old boy went "flying about 30 yards".

The driver of the Toyota, a 29-year-old man, from Bradford, remained at the scene and was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving yesterday.

There have been a number of tributes left at the scene today.

Two bouquets of flowers were attached to the St Stephen's Road road sign.

There was also two balloons tied to the sign - one of which depicted a large yellow sun with a smiley face.

Both bunches of flowers had tributes attached to them.

One of them was a heartfelt message to the family of the seven-year-old boy.

It said: "Wendy & family.

"Deeply sorry for your loss, no amount of words can express the pain that you're all going through.

"Sleep tight Little Angel.

"Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure.

"You are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.

"Fly high, good night, God bless.

"June, Tisha, Collette & family."

The other message was much shorter and said: "R.I.P. beautiful boy.

"Always in our hearts.

"Sleep tight baby."

There were more flowers attached to the barriers of one of the pedestrian islands in the middle of Manchester Road.

Teddies, lanterns and a child's cushion were also hung from the barriers, alongside a plastic wallet containing a card.

Yesterday, PCSOs were seen guarding an address on nearby Lindley Road, with a Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) van also turning up at one point.

Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses following the fatal road traffic collision.

Officers from West Yorkshire Police's Major Collision Enquiry Team (MCET) are carrying out an investigation to establish the full circumstances of the collision and are also working to support the families of those involved.

Anyone who witnessed either the collision itself, or the movements of the vehicle in the time leading up to it, particularly those with relevant dashcam footage, is asked to contact MCET via 101.
