TWO workers at Provident Financial in Bradford have tested positive for Covid-19.

The staff members are believed to be in the Vanquis Bank division and as a result close colleagues were asked to self-isolate and get tested.

Their work area was also subject to an "enhanced clean".

A spokesman for the firm confirmed that a a male member of staff, who showed no Covid-19 symptoms, tested positive for the virus and immediately informed the company.

Subsequently one other worker tested positive, he said.

The spokesman said: “A colleague who was asymptomatic, showed no COVID 19 symptoms, tested positive for the virus. He immediately informed us, and we implemented our pandemic protocols.

"Relevant colleagues were informed, those within the vicinity were asked to self-isolate, and encouraged to get tested. The locality in which the colleague worked was also subjected to an immediate enhanced clean.

"Subsequently one other colleague tested positively for COVID 19."

He added: "The Bradford office adheres strictly to social distancing rules to ensure the safety and well-being of colleagues, measures operating in the Bradford office include: no hot desking, an enhanced cleaning regime, floor markings throughout the building to aid social distancing, signage on social distancing and hand washing, hand sanitiser throughout the building, a one way system implemented in the building, lifts split by markings with a two person maximum, and colleague work spaces separated by at least 2 metres.”

Vanquis Bank was set up in 2003 to offer credit cards to people who can find themselves excluded by mainstream card issuers.
