PLANS to turn a city centre store into a "virtual reality experience" have re-emerged.

Earlier this year a planning application to convert part of the former Boyes store on North Parade into a high tech leisure facility were submitted by Zeeshan Khan.

The plans would see the building converted into an area where customers can don high tech VR gear and immerse themselves in games and virtual experiences.

The business would create three full time and two part time jobs.

But Bradford Council refused the application over conservation concerns, with officers saying there was not nearly enough detail on how the plans would impact neighbouring Oastler Square, which features a Grade II listed statue of Richard Oastler.

Refurbishment plan for 'underappreciated' listed building can go ahead

The site lies within a Conservation Area.

An almost identical planning application for the building has now been re-submitted to the Council.

It says: "Every effort has been made in this development to match and complement the host building and the other buildings in the surrounding conservation area."

A decision is expected next month.
