ONE of Bradford’s busiest junctions is gradually being transformed thanks to long delayed roadworks.
Work is now well underway on the Greengates Junction project - with a large wooded area at the side of the road recently cleared to make way for a mini link road between Harrogate Road and New Line, aimed at reducing the amount of cars that need to stop at the crossroads.
The work, which was already delayed before the Coronavirus pandemic hit the country, finally began late last month.
Drivers facing 64 weeks of works at Greengates junction
It is expected to last another 61 weeks.
The £12.3 million, congestion busting scheme will also include right turning traffic lanes, improved pedestrian crossing facilities and a community green space either side of the new link road.
