Talented pupils who have moved to Bradford from eastern Europe have written a guide to help fellow starters from outside the UK settle in.
Youngsters from the Czech Republic, Poland, Russia and Slovakia who now attend Challenge College have spent a year-and-a-half producing a brochure which provides an insider's guide into how the school works.
They hope the project, believed to be the first of its kind in the city, will help newcomers adapt quickly and raise self-esteem and academic performance.
Neeta Kapur, the College's co-ordinator of English as an additional language, said: "We wanted to get our young east European youngsters to create a welcome pack that explores their experiences while speaking English as a foreign language.
"It is intended to be a teaching tool for new students. It helps them to find out more about the subjects available, the food, activities, facilities and staff.
"The aim was to raise self-esteem among the students."
