Two former Bradford councillors and a Conservative Parliamentary candidate are among seven men due to appear before a top judge tomorrow, accused of vote-rigging in the run-up to the 2005 General Election.
Jamshed Khan, 62 and Reis Khan, 37, who both held seats for the Conservatives on Bradford Council, and 37-year-old Haroon Rashid, who stood as a Tory Parliamentary candidate in Bradford West the same year, will make a first appearance at Bradford Crown Court before the Recorder of Bradford, Judge Stephen Gullick.
Also due to appear are Alyas Khan, 49 - deputy chairman of the Bradford West Conservative Association before it was disbanded - Mohammed Rafiq, 67, Mohammed Sharif Sultan, 49, and Tahir Mahmood, 40.
They are charged with conspiracy to defraud the electoral registration officer of Bradford City Council.
