BUSINESSES that want to install outdoor seating to allow customers to remain socially distant are now able to apply to Bradford Council for a licence.
The authority has announced that businesses can apply for outdoor seating, with a decision made after a 10 day consultation.
It is part of its response to the Covid-19 crisis.
Across the country, businesses like bars, restaurants and cafes have looked to expand onto public streets to allow them to maintain customer levels without breaching social distancing guidelines.
In some areas entire streets have been closed to traffic to allow outside dining.

Bradford Council says the 10 day consultation period will "allow members of the public to voice their support or concerns in relation to placing outdoor seating in the locations specified."
The first business to have applied for an outdoor seating licence is the World Peace Café & Buddha Land Buddhist Centre on Lawkholme Crescent in Keighley.
The cafe wants to add tables and chairs to be located at either side of the main entrance.
