BRADFORD detectives are appealing for witnesses after a shooting incident in Bradford in the early hours of the morning.

It happened at around 1.20am today outside a property on Norman Lane, Eccleshill.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: "Damage was caused to a door of a house and a car outside which are consistent with gun shots.

"No one was injured as a result of the incident."

A police cordon was in place whilst specialist officers from the Firearms Prevent Team examined the area.

Detective Chief Inspector Andy Farrell, of Bradford District Police, said: “Any incident involving guns or weapons has a considerable impact on the community. We take all incidents involving firearms extremely seriously and we have specialist officers from West Yorkshire Firearms Prevent Team investigating this incident.

“We believe this is an isolated incident and there is no threat to the community or wider public."

He said high visibility patrols had been deployed in the area for reassurance.

“I would urge anyone who has any information about this incident to contact the police to help with our ongoing enquiries," he added.
