5 afternoon teas you need to try in Bradford

Since it is National Afternoon Tea Week next week, we have rounded up five great places in Bradford you should visit.

No matter your budget or taste, there is guaranteed to be an afternoon tea venue on this list to suit your preferences.

Pearls Tearoom & Patisserie

Pearls Tearoom offers something a little bit different with their Indian Afternoon Tea.

This includes: Kati roll (a skewer roasted chicked kebab in a tortilla), Chicken Samosa & Veg Roll, a home baked sultana scone with strawberry preserve & clotted cream, as well as a selection of sweet treats.

Pearls Tearoom also offer a more traditional afternoon tea, which swaps out the Indian snack for sandwiches comprising of Beef & Horseradish, Coronation Chicken, Egg Mayo & Smoked Salmon & Cream Cheese.

Alternatively, if you have a sweet tooth you can also opt for the Pearls Sweet Delight Afternoon Tea. This includes: French toast glazed with honey, strawberries, marshmallows & Nutella dip, accompanied by a home baked sultana scone with strawberry preserve & clotted cream

For all afternoon teas, it’s £12.95 for one person or 24.95 for two people.

Miss Butterfinger’s

Miss Butterfinger’s offers an affordable afternoon tea, which is priced at £11.50 per person. This includes a selection of dainty sandwiches, a miniature cup of homemade soup, fresh baked scones and some homemade cakes. All of this is served with a pot of tea or a cup of coffee.

If you don’t have much of an appetite, you can get a smaller version of the afternoon tea for £7.50.

Miss Butterfinger’s is the perfect place for families as the business also provide children’s afternoon teas.

These cost £6.50 and include: dainty finger sandwiches (jam, ham, chocolate spread, cheese, egg mayonnaise or tuna  mayonnaise), cucumbers and tomato, crisps, a homemade cupcake, a mini chocolate brownie and some sweets. The tea also comes with a milkshake, juice or tea.

Best of all, the afternoon teas are served on an adorable miniature picnic table.

Interlude Tea Room

Fancy a boozy afternoon tea? With Interlude cream teas, you can bring your own bottle of bubbly with you.

High Cream Tea- £15 a head (£7.50 on Tuesday and Wednesdays in August)

The Interlude High Cream Tea is certainly a feast.

To start, you have a teacup of soup, followed by finger sandwiches, flavours of which include ham, salmon, tuna, egg mayonnaise (vegetarian options are also available)

You will also get a home made scone, served with jam and double cream or butter and jam.

A fresh cake of your choice will also be provided.

If you want to book an afternoon tea here, you have to give 24 hours notice.

Interlude Afternoon Cream Tea- £11.50 per person

Ideal for those with a smaller appetite, you can choose two sandwich fillings and look forward to a cake and scone.

Sarah Fleming, owner of Interlude, said: "It's very relaxing in our 1920s themed tearoom.

"We have been making afternoon teas for over 12 years and we make everything ourselves- our scones are whoppers!"

Midland Hotel

Many people on Tripadvisor have praised the afternoon tea at the Midland Hotel- one reviewer wrote “is was beautifully presented and delicious”.

The Midland Traditional Afternoon Tea costs £16.50 per person and is served between 12pm-5pm. If you want to upgrade to a boozy afternoon tea, starting from £22.45.

The Great Victoria Hotel

This hotel provides a traditional afternoon tea for just £13.50 per person.

Guests can enjoy freshly prepared sandwiches, scones with preserves and clotted cream, cakes, a selection of mini tartlets and some freshly brewed tea or coffee.

If you fancy a tipple, The Great Victoria Hotel also offer a bottomless prosecco afternoon tea for £26.95 per person.

Afternoon teas are served daily, between 12pm-5pm.
