A three-tonne load of Christmas trees was sent sprawling across the M62 when a pick-up truck, carrying the delivery on a trailer, jack-knifed near Hartshead Moor services at 1.30pm today.
Two westbound lanes of the motorway were closed between Junctions 25 and 26, between Chain Bar and Brighouse, causing long queues of traffic.
A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police said the vehicle had overturned in the accident but the driver was not seriously injured.
