The North East is home to a lot of talented people, many of which have graced the X Factor stage or won over housemates in Big Brother.

Here are five famous faces from the North East that you might remember.

Anthony Hutton

Consett lad, Anthony Hutton, charmed the nation after winning the sixth series of Big Brother back in 2005.

But what has he been up to since?

Speaking to Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford on This Morning, Anthony said he owns Mr Hutton’s Barbers and Bar in Darlington.

Molly Scott

Molly, from County Durham, was just sixteen when she went on the X Factor in 2018.

She made it to the third week of live shows before being voted off by the judges.

During her time on the show, she wowed judges with her cover of It’s a Man’s Man’s World by James Brown.

Molly is still pursuing a career in music and was recently represented by JCM Management International.

She also has a YouTube channel where she mainly posts covers.

Craig Carter

This rocker is from Billingham and you might recognise him from the BBC show The Voice.  

He missed out on a spot in the show’s quarter finals, but still wowed the audience and judges with his rendition of Peter Gabriel’s ‘Sledgehammer’.

According to his Facebook page, he recently joined a new band called Four Colour Ghosts.

James Arthur

James is one of the most successful acts to emerge from the X Factor after he won in 2012.

He has released many hits since leaving the show, such as ‘Impossible’ and ‘Say You Won’t Let Go’.

James is still releasing music and his latest album ‘You’ was released in 2019.

Courtney Hadwin

Courtney Hadwin, from County Durham, wowed judges on America’s Got Talent when she was just 13-years-old- her brilliant singing even got her a Golden Buzzer which immediately sent her to the next round.

Courtney is still making music and was signed to Arista Record in partnership with Simon Cowell's Syco Music.
