FIREFIGHTERS tackled a blaze at a Keighley engineering premises this afternoon.

The fire broke out in machinery at the Russell Street building at about 3pm.

Crews from Keighley, Bingley, Shipley and Illingworth – plus an aerial platform from Bradford – attended.

It took about half an hour to bring the blaze under control.

Firefighters wore breathing apparatus and used two hose reel jets to tackle the flames.

And a special high-pressure fan was used to clear smoke from the property.

The cause of the fire, which caused extensive damage, is under investigation.

Everyone was safely evacuated from the building.
