POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a sexual assault on Barkerend Road.

It happened on Wednesday (July 29) at 7.25pm. 

A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: "The victim, a 40-year-old woman was sitting with two men on Barkerend Road near to wasteland in front of the old mill between Airedale Road and the new Lidl store.

"After the two men left, a third man arrived and sexually assaulted and robbed the woman before running away.

"The victim was left with injuries to her arms.The suspect is described as around 5ft4 tall, aged in his 30s. He was wearing a dark clothing."

Detective Inspector Ian Cottrell, of Bradford District Safeguarding team, said: "We have been carrying out extensive enquiries into this incident and are appealing for anyone with information to get in contact with officers. 

"The victim is being supported by specially trained officers and we are doing everything we can to identify the suspect.

"We would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time or who witnessed anything suspicious. We would also like to speak to the two men who were with the victim prior to the incident to come forward.

"We appreciated that an incident of this nature will cause understandable concern in the community, this is an isolated incident and we are working closely with our colleagues in the local neighbourhood team to reassure people."
