BRADFORD police are appealing for witnesses after a teenager was assaulted by a group of males in Allerton

The Bradford West Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) would like to speak to anyone who has information about a serious assault by a group of teenage boys on a 16-year-old boy in the Allerton area on Wednesday.

Enquiries are underway and one arrest has so far been made in connection with the incident.

It happened at around 8.30pm after the victim was knocked to the ground and assaulted by a group of teenagers.  

One of the group also attempted to take the victim’s wallet but was stopped from doing so.

The victim suffered some facial injuries as a result of the incident but did not need hospital treatment.

Sergeant Al Milner of the Bradford West NPT, said: “We are conducting active enquiries regarding this incident and ae appealing for witnesses.

“A 14-year-old male was arrested on Thursday evening in connection with the assault and is being held in custody for questioning.

“I am aware of video circulating on social media of this incident and would like to reassure residents that the matter is being fully investigated.

“We would also them to be mindful that this is an active case under the Contempt of Court Act with a person in custody, and they should not share or make comments on social media which could undermine a prosecution.

“Anyone who has information about the assault is asked to contact the Bradford West NPT on 101 referencing crime number 13200381168.
