MEET more beautiful babies who have been born in the district during lockdown.

We have been asking parents to send us pictures of their new arrivals - and we’ve been thrilled with the response.

These cuties are bringing a ray of sunshine to their families right now and here we are delighted to share their lovely pictures, as part of our regular series focussing on lockdown newborns.

Bradford Telegraph and Argus:

Andrew Deacon, born at BRI on April 26, 9lbs, to Alyx Deacon and Richard Garfoth of Saltaire. Says Alyx: “I was anxious about having a lockdown baby but it was great. My partner was able to be there and the midwives were fantastic. After being told I was in labour at 11am on April 25, our gorgeous boy joined us at 12.56am on April 26!”

Bradford Telegraph and Argus:

Teddy Jordan Gallagher, born at BRI on July 12, weighing 8lb 12oz, to Amy and Stuart Gallagher of Wibsey.

"After a long labour and ending in an emergency C-section, little Teddy had to spend a few days in neo-natal care in the BRI. After the midwives and nurses gave some fantastic care looking after him, he is now well and fit and back home. He is a first baby for Amy and Stuart."

Bradford Telegraph and Argus:

Louie James Higgins, born at BRI on July 2, 8lbs 7oz, to Ellyn and James Higgins of Thackley. “After 17 hours of labour and trial by forceps Louie was born by emergency Caesarean. Not an easy first labour! Luckily Daddy was there but had to leave while Mummy and baby recovered for a further 26 hours. Thank you to BRI midwives and consultants for ensuring Mummy and baby Louie are safe and well in these unprecedented times.”

It has been, and continues to be, a difficult time to have a baby. Because of restrictions still in place due to the coronavirus pandemic, many mums are having to go into hospital alone, without their partners, and some have had to go through the birth process without a loved one at their side.

And many of their family and friends will have an agonising wait until they can have their first glimpse and cuddle of the new arrivals.

But it’s also a special time to be born - and we hope these delightful picture galleries will become treasured keepsakes for families in the Bradford district.

If you’ve had a baby in lockdown, the Telegraph & Argus would love to share your happy news.

The proud parents tell us: “Our baby was induced three weeks early as she was measuring small.

“We had a photo shoot with her at home at everything was closed due to the coronovirus pandemic. #photoshootathome”

Bradford Telegraph and Argus:

Aqsa Rehan, born at BIR on June 25, weighing 5lbs 10oz, to Muhammad Rehan and Isma Younis of Bradford.

A little sister for Maryam. The pair are pictured together.

Proud mum Isma tells us: “Our beautiful baby girl was born two days before my birthday. It was the best present ever. She is a baby sister to a proud six-year-old who has been very patient in this pandemic.”
