IT has now been eight days since the last coronavirus death at any hospitals in the Bradford district.

NHS England announced in today's update that there were no further deaths reported from the COVID-19 virus at Bradford Royal Infirmary (BRI), Airedale General Hospital or Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust.

The last death from the virus in any of those settings was on Sunday, July 12.

It happened at BRI and was reported in NHS England's daily update Tuesday, July 14 (six days ago).

The total death toll at hospitals in the Bradford district remains at 341 today - 231 at BRI, 108 at Airedale and two at Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust.

NHS England announced one patient at hospitals in the North East and Yorkshire who tested positive for the coronavirus (COVID-19) has died.

The death was in South Yorkshire (The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust).

There were an extra six deaths reported today across England, taking the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in the country to 29,187.

Patients in today's update were aged between 74 and 98-years-old. 

All patients had underlying health conditions.

Their families have been informed.
