IT'S been a busy night for fire crews after five house fires were called in across the district in a 24 hour period.

Just as crews started their night shift, firefighters from Bradford, Odsal and Shipley were called out to a house fire at 6.23pm.

The incident, which "involved" a kitchen, took place at Holme Lane in the BD4 area.

Teams had to use four lots of breathing apparatus and two hose reels.

The second fire of the shift took place at Southfield Avenue in Bradford which crews have since linked to a chip pan.

One casualty suffered from smoke inhalation after the incident in the BD6 area.

She was treated by the Yorkshire Ambulance Service while firefighters ventilated the property.

Fire services from Odsal, Cleckheaton and Fairweather Green attended the incident.

Just after midnight, crews were called to a house fire which also "involved" the kitchen on Princeville Street, found in the BD7 area.

No injuries were reported but teams - sent out from Fairweather Green and Bradford - used breathing apparatus and hose reels at the scene.

At 4.19am, crews were rushed to a fire at one of the terraced houses on Victoria Road in Saltaire.

50 percent of the ground floor was engulfed in flames, fire services reported.

One resident was treated for smoke inhalation by Yorkshire Ambulance Service.

Crews from Shipley, Bingley and two Bradford units attended, using breathing apparatus, hose reels and ventilation to deal with the fire.

Crews remain at the property now, blackened on the outside and above the door.

Just before 6am, two crews from Bradford and one from Stanningley dealt with an incident which again "involved" the kitchen.

It took place on Burlington Avenue in Bradford.

One man was treated by Yorkshire Ambulance Service for smoke inhalation.

Firefighters used breathing apparatus, a hose reel jet and ventilation to deal with the fire.
