RIDDLESDEN Post Office has received the stamp of approval.

The Bar Lane branch won the community engagement category of the coveted regional We’re Stronger Together Awards.

Accolades were handed out by Post Office Ltd in recognition of the efforts made by postmasters/mistresses to keep branches open and serving communities during the coronavirus pandemic.

Riddlesden postmaster Bal Singh received his award virtually from Post Office chief executive Nick Read.

“I am pleased to have received this recognition,” said Mr Singh.

“A massive ‘thank you’ goes to members of staff Julie Horn and Dawn Watson – without their help and support, none of this would have been possible.”

“If anyone out there is struggling as we go through the valley of darkness, you are not alone. Please contact me, I will help you.”

Tribute is paid by Post Office area manager, Karen Walker.

She said: “Bal has selflessly reached out to his community to help in its time of need.

“He made use of social media to reach out to his customers, offering them financial assistance and delivery of essential supplies if needed. He even printed out pamphlets with his contact details on them to help reach more in the community.”
