A DOG has been rescued by firefighters after falling into the Manchester Ship Canal this afternoon, Friday.
Shortly after 2pm, Harry the cockapoo, was spotted struggling in the water near Lulworth Place in Lower Walton.
Firefighters from Lymm, Warrington and Knutsford responded, with some going into the water on a raft while the Rope Rescue Unit set up equipment on the bank.
Harry was rescued from the side of the canal and his relieved owner was contacted.
Firefighters were in attendance for around 50 minutes.
