Johnny Connelly's heartbroken mother has welcomed all to lay a wreath at Spears Wharf Canal on the first anniversary of his death.

The 28-year-old from Milton was first reported as a missing person before his body was recovered from the water at Spiers Wharf on July 22 last year.

In an emotional Facebook post, Johnny's mum, Norah Mccluskey, invited people to pay tribute to her son.

The circumstances surrounding Johnny's death are still unknown as he was pulled from the water where he had sustained serious injuries to his head and body.
