THE majority of Superdrug stores in the UK remained open throughout Covid-19 to ensure communities had access to essential health products during the pandemic.

The health and beauty retailer have welcomed customers back by reopening the full estate, including the Bradford Broadway store.

Superdrug also continues to invest in its online presence for the 25 million new visitors it has seen since lockdown.

SAFETY FIRST

Health and safety is paramount when it comes to the Superdrug store plan, including the continuation of protective measures for colleagues and customers in-store, but with a focus on creating an enjoyable shopping experience at the same time.

Interaction is key, highlighted by customers as something they have missed during the lockdown, so interaction will be service led and non-policing, creating a relaxed and friendly environment for shoppers returning to store.

Protective measures include floor tape to help encourage social distancing, Perspex screens at till point and pharmacy counters, additional card only tills, hand sanitisers and intensive hand washing for colleagues and restricting the number of customers allowed in stores at any one time.

Colleagues will be welcoming customers, gently reminding them of the safety measures and offering advice from a safe distance.

A SUMMER OF BEAUTY EXPERIENCE

This summer Superdrug will unite customers virtually through a series of fun, experimental experiences.

These experiences will bring the latest beauty products and services to customers for the very best value.

The promotion marked the launch of the ‘Makeover Your Summer’ campaign, which will also see a series of influencers help Superdrug to create looks with affordable cosmetics that customers can recreate at-home.

There will also be a range of in-store promotions on offer for customers to enjoy such as 3 for 2 offers on Ardell lashes and savings of 1/3 on the Superdrug Artiscent fragrance range.

Customers will be entertained in store by Superdrug Radio and the popular podcast series, The Beauty of it All, will return with a series of guest presenters and celebrities.

Shoppers can also read DARE@Home online, Superdrug’s monthly magazine that features everything up to the minute beauty.

While Health & Beautycard holders can look forward to a Treat Week where their loyalty will be rewarded with a series of exclusive promotions.

Beauty Studio by Superdrug is preparing their areas to welcome back customers as soon as it is confirmed possible in line with government guidelines.

The expert in-store treatments is set to return with a streamlined treatment menu and a focus on express treatments, to allow additional time for cleaning.

Superdrug will also be continuing to offer customers trend led treatments as well as continued athome care advice for those customers who are still isolating or unable to get to store. More information will also be available on Beauty Studio by Superdrug’s social pages and on the website, as the government advice is updated.

Peter Macnab, Superdrug chief executive officer, said: “Over recent weeks we’ve seen a rise in customer demand for our beauty categories - which we were not restocking at the height of the pandemic.

“In the last month, we have seen a 39% sales uplift on cosmetics so we know our beauty shoppers are craving a return of the non-essential shopping experience. “We have prioritised safety measures in our stores above everything else, focusing on providing a safe shopping environment in-store.

“Our customers have told us that they are looking for beauty experiences, trends and deals, so we are also focusing heavily on how we can make shopping more enjoyable, through both atmosphere and value.”
