Schools signed up to the Telegraph & Argus Cash for Schools have until Monday, December 3, to land a share of £10,000.

The T&A has teamed up with Yorkshire Building Society and IKEA to offer schools a chance to win a portion of the windfall.

A total of 96 schools across have registered and begun collecting mastheads. Today is the final date which mastheads can be collected. However, all mastheads from the past week's editions will count as two.

Secondaries have the chance to win £3,000 cash and primaries and nurseries £2,000.

All mastheads collected up to and including today's edition must include the date - photocopies will not be accepted.

The school that collects the most in each sector will scoop the top prize.

In addition, five more schools will each win runner-up prizes of an IKEA account to spend at their store in Birstall at junction 27 of the M62. Every school which has entered the competition will also receive a consolation prize, a T&A branded football, a mini T&A rugby ball, a mini T&A football and an Ikea food hamper.

Many schools have come up with creative ways in which the money could be spent. Pupils at Ryecroft Primary in Holme Wood, Bradford, have decided where their winnings will go if their school lands a cash prize.

Head teacher Nicola Goode said: "We want to buy all sorts of play equipment if we win. It will include trim trail equipment such as balancing beams, wobbly boards and stepping stones."

Schools which have registered for the competition but not yet received submission forms should call Helen Turner on (01274) 705389.

As previously mentioned, all mastheads and entry forms must be returned by Monday, December 3.
