THE new Warrington Market will boast 12 food outlets, two bars, an artisan coffee shop and a milkshake bar.

And while not all of the Cookhouse's traders are up and running just yet, we’ve been down to get a taste of some of the exciting new cuisines from across the globe which are on offer now.

Owner Andrea Romero, who hails from Seville in the south of Spain, said: “We’re looking forward to serving burritos and quesadillas to everyone.

Warrington Guardian:

“Burritos are everyone’s favourite, but we also have nachos, tacos and everything Mexican – we have chicken, pork and beef but vegetarian options also.

“I think the nachos might become our most popular dish, because if you’re coming as a family it is nice to share them with a meal and a drink.

“We wanted to expand the business but we didn’t want to go too far from Manchester, and there has been a massive investment in Warrington Market.

“It looks stunning and so far everyone has been lovely, it’s been a pleasure to come here.”

If authentic Indian street food is more your doggy bag, look no further than Bombay to Mumbai.

Donya Bonyadi and Sandeep Gursahani already run what is the top Indian restaurant in Stockport, according to Trip Advisor.

And now they can call Warrington Market home as well.

Warrington Guardian:

Sandeep said: “We offer very traditional and modern Indian street food – normally for people in the UK, Indian food is about curries.

“But that’s not our culture, nobody else in the whole of Warrington offers anything like this concept.

“We will have one curry per week, and they will be very different curries from what people will be used to.

“I think our samosa chat will be a popular dish, as well as the chicken lollipop.

“The Time Square development has such a big potential.

“It looks amazing, we’ve been working on our unit for almost a month now and the management have been fantastic and very supportive.”

While Eastern Point’s Asian fusion cuisine is inspired by Korea and Japan, the brothers behind the operation – Chris and Robin Turner – hail from western Warrington, specifically Callands.

Warrington Guardian:

Chris said: “I learnt my trade in Manchester, but I decided to come back when I saw what was happening with the new Warrington Market.

“I think it looks really great in here.

“It’s mainly Korean food with a bit of a Japanese influence as well, I’ve been cooking this kind of food for about two or three years.”

These three newbies will complement existing eateries Louie’s Pizza, Baker Js, Krua Thai and Tam’s Takeway – all of whom are open now.

Dreamshakes and Two Brothers Coffee are on hand for beverages as well.

And there will be plenty more to get your teeth into over the coming weeks.

Old favourite Café at the Universe will be ready to serve its gourmet burgers once more in the next few days, reopening alongside its dessert sister Dark Side of the Spoon.

While the Get Stuffed carvery pulled out of the new market at short notice last week, Jakblak is hoping to fill the hole with its offering of modern British cuisine – promising an extra special take on staples such as pies and the classic Sunday dinner.

Shawarma and More will be cooking up middle eastern street food, and Petit Francis will offer a French delicatessen.

And an upmarket cocktail bar will join the now open Hop Emporium, formerly the Real Ale Shack, to complete the lineup.
